Tuesday 9th January 2018: Delay of up to two hours reported for traffic leaving the Aztec West Business Park. Possible contributing factor of gas board roadworks in Upper Almondsbury causing tailbacks down the A38.

In response to a query from the Journal, a South Gloucestershire Council spokesperson said:
“We are aware of significant traffic congestion at Aztec West during the evening rush hour last night (Tuesday 9th January).”
“The congestion was caused by a set of unauthorised temporary traffic signals on the A38 at Almondsbury. We removed these temporary signals this morning (Wednesday), and will be following this up with the utilities company responsible to ensure this does not happen again.”
“We apologise for any disruption caused to motorists.”

@sgloscouncil could we have some reassurance that the traffic problem at Aztec West will be sorted today, even without the temp traffic lights at the roadworks in Almondsbury everyone was severely delayed

Cycling past all this, it seemed that some temporary traffic lights up the a38 were stopping traffic flowing. That and the sheer amount of cars.

Overhead on bus: "If the world has an asshole, it is Aztec West"
For info, this bus was 35 mins late, I've been on it for 25 mins, and we've only just got out of the business park. pic.twitter.com/JuVfYGjpwo— Pope Dan Gusset (@dangusset) January 9, 2018
It could perhaps be due to some roadworks on the other side of the M5 on the A38 (Gloucester Road), I can see heavy traffic from Aztec West, across the roundabout for the M5 towards the works. pic.twitter.com/dTGT4Yyo3C

Does anyone know what’s going on with traffic at Aztec West. Send blankets and fluids. Looks like we are locked in for the night
