Traveller encampment site defences strengthened with boulders

A set of boulders has today been placed on the access ramp leading to a grassed area alongside Bradley Stoke Way that was, on two recent occasions, used as the site of an illegal traveller encampment. Wooden posts prove no deterrent as travellers return to Bradley Stoke Way

Mayor takes action to prevent return of travellers

Bradley Stoke Town Council has confirmed that it has installed a number of wooden posts in an attempt to to prevent further access to a site alongside Bradley Way, where a group of travellers recently established an unauthorised encampment. The travellers left the site last Thursday (26th June) and the town council says it has “wasted no time” in taking action,

Travellers begin second week of occupation

Travellers at an illegal encampment alongside Bradley Stoke Way have today begun their second week of occupation, despite being given 24 hours to leave the site on Tuesday last week. Four caravans and a number of other vehicles moved onto the roadside verge near Primrose Bridge last Monday morning. They were joined by a fifth caravan a few days later.
