The path around the north side of the lake in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve has been closed for seven weeks, starting Monday 7th March, for surfacing works. The footpath improvement is part of a £250,000 lake desilting and improvement scheme, the main body of which was carried out in late 2021.

Three Brooks Lake path set to be closed for 7 weeks
The path around the north side of the lake in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve is set to be closed for seven weeks from Monday (7th March 2022), for surfacing works. The work forms part of a £250,000 lake desilting and improvement scheme, the main part of which was carried out in November and December last year.

The long-awaited project to desilt the lake in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve finally got under way on Monday 1st November when South Gloucestershire Council’s specialist contractor Land & Water Services Ltd moved onto the site. The work is expected to take 6 weeks to complete, i.e. until mid-December.

A blockage in a sewer pipe is thought to have led to a pollution incident that has had devastating consequences for aquatic wildlife in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Lake. Following sightings of fish struggling to breathe and dying on Friday 27th August, the Environment Agency was immediately alerted via its pollution incident hotline.
