Great Stoke Roundabout (a.k.a. Rabbit Roundabout)
Lane widening, new Toucan crossings and improvements to cycling and pedestrian facilities at Great Stoke roundabout (known locally as rabbit roundabout) in Stoke Gifford. Work is due to begin on 2 January 2020 and is anticipated to take around a year to complete.
Gipsy Patch Lane, Little Stoke (ongoing)
Stop/Go boards will continue to be used as needed at the railway bridge on Gipsy Patch Lane as the piling work continues into the New Year. These are only being used when workers and machinery from the construction site need to safely cross Gipsy Patch Lane. Their use is being kept to a minimum and as far as possible kept to off-peak times.
In addition, to enable Network Rail and their contractors Alun Griffiths to continue with the piling work, the junction of Station Road with Gipsy Patch Lane will be closed to all vehicles for approximately two weeks from Monday 6th January. Pedestrians and cyclists will still be able to access Station Road via Gipsy Patch Lane during the closure.
A diversion route for vehicles, to reach Station Road via Clay Lane and Little Stoke Lane, will be in operation and will be fully signposted throughout the junction closure. Please be aware that access to businesses to the southern end of Station Road will involve travelling under a footbridge with a height restriction of 4.2 metres.
Stoke Lane, Stoke Lodge
Works duration: 27th to 31st January 2020.
Footway resurfacing from Amberley Road to Painswick Avenue on behalf of the parish council. Two-way traffic signals, delays likely.
3rd November 2019 to 5th January 2020
Gipsy Patch Lane, Little Stoke (ongoing)
To assist the preparation works for the replacement of the railway bridge on Gipsy Patch Lane a number of traffic management measures will be in use over the coming months.
Continuing automated Stop/Go boards will be used when workers and machinery from the construction site need to safely cross Gipsy Patch Lane, their use will be kept to a minimum and as far as possible will be kept to off-peak times.
Stoke Lane / A38 Gloucester Road, Patchway
Works duration: 5th August to 3rd December 2019
Footway widening, improved cycling facilities and installation of two speed humps.
Two-way traffic signals off peak 9.30am to 3.30pm.
Great Stoke Roundabout (a.k.a. Rabbit Roundabout)
Preparatory works to widen the lanes on the circulatory of the roundabout and all approaches. Installation of new Toucan crossings on the four arms of the roundabout prioritised for pedestrians and cyclists and new shared use foot and cycle paths.
Site clearance will take place before Christmas and construction is due to start on 6th January.
Patchway Station cycleway link
Works duration: 21st October to 14th March
Provide an improved pedestrian link and new cycleway link between Little Stoke and Patchway. Will also provide a shorter diversion route for pedestrians and cyclists whilst Gipsy Patch Lane is closed for the bridge works.
The works have required the temporary closure of the existing public footpath along the route. Motorists should be unaffected.

A4174 Station Road, Filton – from Filton Avenue to Abbey Wood Roundabout
Works duration: 23rd September to 10th October
Reconstruction and resurfacing
Overnight road closures, 8pm – 6am
West Field Lane, Stoke Gifford (near Harry Stoke)
Works duration: 12th August to 29th October 2019
Work on behalf of housebuilder Crest to create a new entrance off West Field Lane to a housing site and install water, gas, electric and street lighting feeds. The work is being completed by M J Church on behalf of Crest. The Council is inspecting the work.
Two-way traffic signals and footpath closure which will be switched to either side to enable the work to be completed.

Overnight road closure, A4174 Abbey Wood Roundabout Monday 9th September to Tuesday 24th September. This is to allow us to carry out resurfacing of the roundabout. A signed diversion will be in place and access to properties will be maintained. We will make every effort to minimise disruption and apologise for the inconvenience caused.
There is a planned footway closure on the A38 southbound between Filton College and Filton Church to stabilise a retaining wall. Lane 1 will be closed to provide a pedestrian/cycle route past the works to minimise disruption
