Candidates have been announced for the South Gloucestershire district elections and Bradley Stoke town elections, both of which take place on Thursday 4th May. A total of four seats are up for grabs in the two Bradley Stoke wards of South Gloucestershire Council along with all 15 seats on Bradley Stoke Town Council.

Residents of the Stokes are being reminded that photo identification will be required in order to vote in person at a polling station in the upcoming local elections on Thursday 4th May. You may already have a form of photo ID that is acceptable, such as a passport or driving licence. Voters without an accepted form of photo ID can apply online for a free Voter Authority Certificate.

The fate of a planning application to create an extended retail unit at Bradley Stoke’s Willow Brook shopping centre – rumoured to be destined for occupation by Lidl – is set to be decided by a committee of South Gloucestershire councillors next week. Total car parking provision at the centre would be reduced by 55 spaces (from 927 to 872).
