Bradley Stoke Way: Full details of planned multi-million pound active travel upgrade

South Glos Council has published further details of plans to create a near-continuous, two-way segregated cycle track along the full length of Bradley Stoke Way. The route is part of a wider £31.8m scheme to improve walking, cycling and bus travel between Thornbury and south Bradley Stoke. Residents are encouraged to have their say on the proposals by 18th December.

Council’s free ‘fireworks to music’ event hailed as a great success

The addition of a musical accompaniment to the 2023 edition of Bradley Stoke Town Council’s annual fireworks display has been hailed as a great success. The event is free to attend, with bucket collections being made for the mayor’s charities. This year’s collection raised £3,508 (including £490 donated by traders) for Prostate Cancer UK, The Brightwell and Mamas Bristol.

Emergency bleed kit installed outside Brook Way Activity Centre

A potentially life-saving emergency bleed control kit has been installed outside Brook Way Activity Centre in Bradley Stoke, thanks to partnership working between Avon and Somerset Police, NHS England South West and HeartSafe. The installation marked the start of Operation Sceptre, a national week of action to raise awareness of operational activity to tackle, disrupt and prevent knife crime.
