South Glos Council has published further details of plans to create a near-continuous, two-way segregated cycle track along the full length of Bradley Stoke Way. The route is part of a wider £31.8m scheme to improve walking, cycling and bus travel between Thornbury and south Bradley Stoke. Residents are encouraged to have their say on the proposals by 18th December.

Bradley Stoke Town Council has announced plans to install a suite of free-to-use outdoor gym equipment on Jubilee Green, adjacent to the existing Beacon Play Area. Following lengthy discussions that have spanned several years, councillors have agreed to proceed with the project which has a estimated cost of between £65,000 and £90,000.

A man from Bradley Stoke has been handed an 18-month Community Order and ordered to pay a total of £2,633 in costs following a prosecution brought by South Gloucestershire Council and Avon and Somerset Police after he became physically aggressive with staff and hurled waste around at the entrance to Little Stoke Sort It recycling centre.

The addition of a musical accompaniment to the 2023 edition of Bradley Stoke Town Council’s annual fireworks display has been hailed as a great success. The event is free to attend, with bucket collections being made for the mayor’s charities. This year’s collection raised £3,508 (including £490 donated by traders) for Prostate Cancer UK, The Brightwell and Mamas Bristol.

A man has been arrested following a death in Bradley Stoke in the early hours of Saturday 18th November. Police were called to a residential address in Honeysuckle Close at about 3.20am, with it reported that a man had been stabbed and was critically wounded. Emergency services attended but the man was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.

Hundreds of motorbiking Santas will pass through Bradley Stoke on Saturday 2nd December 2023 to raise festive cheer in support of Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW). The Santa convoy is expected to enter the town at the southern end of Bradley Stoke Way at 1.05pm, pass the Willow Brook Centre at 1.10pm and reach the Aztec West Roundabout at 1.15pm.

A potentially life-saving emergency bleed control kit has been installed outside Brook Way Activity Centre in Bradley Stoke, thanks to partnership working between Avon and Somerset Police, NHS England South West and HeartSafe. The installation marked the start of Operation Sceptre, a national week of action to raise awareness of operational activity to tackle, disrupt and prevent knife crime.

Bradley Stoke’s hugely popular annual FREE fireworks display returns with a musical twist this Sunday (5th November). Following suggestions from members of the public, this year’s event will be accompanied by music broadcast from a beefed-up sound system comprising around 18 speaker cabinets. The town council has budgeted a cost of £11,500 for staging the display.

Bradley Stoke Town Council has announced that it will be launching its 2023 Charity Scarecrow Trail on Saturday 21st October at 9am. The trail will run throughout the half-term school holiday and close on Sunday 29th October at 6pm. Trail maps costing £2 can be purchased from the council’s three activity centres and a number of other locations around the town.
