A planning application for the construction of two 4-storey apartment blocks on vacant land at the southern end of Bradley Stoke Way looks set to be approved at a council committee meeting this Thursday (4th July). Officers at South Glos Council have recommended approval of the application despite it attracting objections from 62 local residents and the town council.

Customers have been made aware of the closure through a notice displayed on the door of the filling station kiosk, which states that “major works” need to be carried out at the site.

New solar panels generating more than 360,000kWh of clean energy and saving 75 tonnes of carbon a year have been installed at Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre. The panels cover 1,875m2 of the leisure centre’s roof and in summer will convert enough daylight/sunlight into electrical energy to power the entire 7,000m2 site.

Drivers using the M5 motorway near Bradley Stoke are being advised to allow extra time for their journeys as bridge refurbishment works enter their final phase from today, Friday 26th April 2024. The closures will extend from J17 (Cribbs Causeway) to J14 (Falfield) and will therefore affect access to and from the motorway at J16 (Almondsbury / Aztec West).
