M1 MetroBus service temporarily suspended this weekend (3rd/4th September)

The M1 MetroBus service, which links Bradley Stoke with Cribbs Causeway, Bristol city centre and south Bristol is to be temporarily suspended this weekend (3rd/4th September) to allow an orderly transition to a new operator. Some late evening journeys on Friday 2nd September may also be impacted. The service will resume from Monday 5th September, running to a slightly revised timetable.

McDonald’s opening date confirmed as ‘Golden Arches’ appear at Willow Brook

As construction of the new two-story McDonald’s restaurant and drive-through at Bradley Stoke’s Willow Brook shopping centre nears completion, the firm has confirmed a planned opening date of Wednesday 14th September. An application for a ‘late night refreshment’ premises licence covering the hours 11pm to 5am will be considered by councillors on Tuesday 6th September.

Consultation on proposal to increase number of town council wards

South Glos Council is running a public consultation on a proposed change to the number of town council wards in Bradley Stoke. In order to avoid the need for “long ballot papers” at elections and the potential for “expensive by-elections” (due to the large number of voters in each of the current wards), it is proposed to increase the number of town wards from three to five.
