Happy Days nursery rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted inspector

Staff and children at Happy Days Nursery & Pre-School in Bradley Stoke are celebrating their second successive ‘outstanding’ Ofsted inspection report. Situated within the Almondsbury Business Park, off Woodlands Lane, the setting opened its doors in 2015, receiving an ‘outstanding’ Ofsted judgement at its first inspection in July 2016. This has now been followed with another top rating following an inspection in August.

Kerbside collection of soft plastics to be trialled at some homes in Bradley Stoke

Bradley Stoke in one of three areas in South Gloucestershire that have been chosen to take part in a trial to collect plastic bags and wrapping from homes as part of normal weekly recycling collections. Collections will begin from 17th October, with selected households taking part (approximately 2,000 in total across South Gloucestershire). More homes are set to be added in 2023.

McDonald’s opens in Bradley Stoke, but it’s not 24 hours (yet)

The new McDonald’s restaurant and drive-through at Bradley Stoke’s Willow Brook shopping centre opened its doors shortly after 11am today (Wednesday 14th September) following a construction period lasting around seven months. Despite the franchisee having recently secured a ‘late night’ premises licence, the outlet will *not* be opening any later than 10pm – for the time being at least.

Police issue correction to news release on Bradley Stoke sexual assault

Avon and Somerset Police have issued a correction to a news release they put out regarding the charging of a man with a sexual assault that occurred in Bradley Stoke on Friday 15th July. They now say the incident happened “outside an address in Bradley Stoke … *not* in the immediate vicinity of the [Three Brooks] nature reserve”, rather than “at the nature reserve” as they had originally reported.

Man arrested as police reveal details of two further sexual assaults in nature reserve

An arrest has been made by officers investigating a serious sexual assault in Bradley Stoke’s Three Brooks Local Nature Reserve, which is now being linked to two other recent offences in the same area. The initial incident happened on the evening of Thursday 4th August. Police have now revealed that further assaults took place on Tuesday 23rd August and Thursday 1st September.

McDonald’s late night trading licence application set for decision on Tuesday

A sub-committee of three councillors is set to decide whether the soon-to-open McDonald’s restaurant and drive-through at Bradley Stoke’s Willow Brook shopping centre will be permitted to trade during the ‘late night’ hours of 11pm to 5am. The licensing hearing takes place at the South Gloucestershire Council civic centre in Kingswood on Tuesday (6th September).
