Final consultation on proposed changes to FaBS constituency boundary

The boundary of the parliamentary constituency of Filton and Bradley Stoke (FaBS) looks set to be adjusted at its western and eastern extremities following the publication of ‘final draft’ recommendations by the Boundary Commission for England. The latest proposals would see FaBS losing the South Gloucestershire ward of Pilning & Severn Beach, while gaining the Emersons Green ward.

BSYFC U7s benefit from trust set up in memory of former player Luke Wheaton

Bradley Stoke Youth FC’s Under-7 players were thrilled to receive new matchday jackets that were kindly purchased for them by the Luke Wheaton Legacy Trust, writes U7 Orange team manager Martin Lee. The trust was set up in memory of Luke Wheaton, a former Bradley Stoke Youth player who sadly lost his life in the tragic Avonmouth explosion in 2020, at the age of 16.

Police called as 500 revellers attend “unlicensed music event” near Hambrook

Police were called to the scene of an “unlicensed music event” near Bradley Stoke in the early hours of Sunday morning (30th October). A member of the public called police shortly after midnight to report seeing cars arriving at the site of a disused warehouse just off Old Gloucester Road (on the section between Winterbourne Road and Bristol Road, Hambrook).

Fireworks display returns in traditional (LOUD) format on Sunday 6th November

Following the trial of a ‘low noise’ format in 2021, Bradley Stoke’s hugely popular FREE fireworks display reverts to a ‘traditional’ (loud) format for this year’s renewal on Sunday 6th November. After considering feedback from the public regarding the 2021 event, councillors voted 6:4 for a return to a ‘traditional’ format. The agreed budget for this year’s event is £9,300.
