Since the opening of the Willow Brook Centre in October 2008, this section of the website has become a little out of date. We have plans to update it in due course, but in the meantime you can find information about shops at the Willow Brook Centre (along with their telephone numbers) here.
Bradley Stoke has in the past been labeled “The Town with no Heart“, but all that is about to change with the construction of a new town centre featuring a Tesco Extra store almost two-and-a-half times the size of the existing Tesco store, together with a shopping mall, free-standing retail units, a town square and office units. A hotel and adjacent restaurant are likely to follow in a later phase of the development.
All of the land on which the town centre is being constructed is owned by Tesco Stores Limited, who will manage the centre once it is completed.
Work on the development started in December 2007 and the main phase is expected to be completed within 18 months, with the new Tesco Extra store scheduled for a “late autumn 2008” opening.
On our Tesco page you will find images, plans and press releases released by Tesco Stores Limited.
The Journal will keep you up to date with progress on the development through regular news postings in our New Town Centre category, which can also be accessed from the sidebar of the website.
We have also put together some pages to help you find more detailed information:
- Our Planning Applications page allows you to consult the official plans hosted on The South Gloucestershire Council website.
- Our Interactive Maps page gives you a visual interpretation of the work in progress, superimposed on Google Maps imagery.
