Waste and recycling
There will be no collections on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. A catch-up schedule will operate from 27th December 2024. Collections return to normal in the week beginning Monday 13th January 2025.

The Sort It recycling centre at Little Stoke will be closed Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. The site will close at 2pm on Christmas Eve. On all other days, the site will be open as normal.
Recycling tips
How to recycle your real Christmas tree (SGC)
Wrapping paper and cards without glitter, foil or plastic can be recycled. Use the scrunch test for wrapping paper – if it stays crunched, recycle it. If it springs back, reuse it or put it in the black bin.
Recycle brown paper from parcels with cardboard. Put extra card in a cardboard box (no larger than your recycling box). Take very large carboard boxes to a Sort It recycling centre.
In case your house isn’t served by the blue bag scheme for soft plastic recycling, there is a collection point for soft plastic and plastic film at the Tesco Extra store in Bradley Stoke. See: Tesco Extra store leads the way on soft plastic recycling.
Bradley Stoke Town Council
The town council office at The Jubilee Centre, Savages Wood Road, will close at 12noon on Tuesday 24th December 2024 and reopen at 8.30am on Thursday 2nd January 2025.

Waste and recycling
Waste and recycling services are continuing as normal on Bank Holiday Monday 27th May 2024. Please ensure your containers are out for collection as usual.
The Sort It recycling centres are open every day 8.30am to 4.30pm. The sites are usually very busy on bank holiday weekends, especially between 10am and 2pm, so if you can, plan your visit for the quieter times or to come another day. If you do need to use a recycling centre this weekend, sort your waste before you arrive to speed up your visit.
