Statement to The Journal, Tuesday 3rd November 2009
I was born in India and moved to Britain in 2000 and to Bradley Stoke in 2002. I work as the Network Designer with a large Mobile Communications company in Aztec West for the last 8 years. I am married To Ritu, we have one daughter Alisha aged 2 and our second baby is expected soon. Immediately after moving to Bradley Stoke, I fell in love with this place and perhaps it is one of the reasons that I gave up my Indian Citizenship and took British one instead. Things I like about English culture are sense of humour, Diversity & Assertiveness among local people. My hobbies include cricket, long walks, and reading.
Bradley Stoke is diverse community and one of my main reasons for contesting these elections is that I can bring different ideas to the local people to help build bridges between different cultures living in town.
Having a young family I am also concerned about the facilities available and I want to ensure that our young people are not standing on street corners but are contributing positively to the society. I am a determined person and happy to take any issues that people feel strongly about and make sure that the town council listens to people views.
It’s interesting to note that the new baby is due on election day!!
