Official e-scooter trial extended until March
A trial of rental e-scooters across the West of England has been extended into 2022. Voi Technology Ltd, which operates the rental scheme, says almost 2.5 million e-scooter rides have been taken across Bristol, Bath and South Gloucestershire – making the service “one of the most well-used in Europe”.

Motorists using the A38 between Almondsbury and Thornbury are set to face long delays in the new year when temporary traffic lights with single-lane running will be in operation for several months on a bridge over the M4 motorway. Local bus operator First West of England has announced a number of adjustments to its services with effect from Sunday 29th August 2021. Sunday and public holiday frequency on the T1 service will be reduced from ‘every 30 minutes’ to ‘every 60 minutes’. There are also changes affecting services 12, 18, 19, 73, 963, M1 and T1s.

Residents of the Stokes are now able to hire ‘hop-on, hop-off’ e-scooters after a trial scheme established in Bristol city centre in October 2020 was expanded to cover Bradley Stoke and Stoke Gifford. Clusters of coral-coloured e-scooters have appeared at MetroBus stops and other key locations in the area.
