Bradley Stoke’s new McDonald’s restaurant and drive-through has extended its opening times by one hour a day and now closes at 11pm seven days a week.

The outlet has planning permission for 24-hour operation, coupled with a late night food and drink licence, but when it opened in September the operator chose to restrict trading hours to 6am to 10pm each day.

The change is consistent with a statement made to the Journal by a manager with the franchisee company on the opening day in which it was suggested that extended opening, by one or two hours each day, might be introduced “around Christmas”.

The same manager also said there remained “an ambition” for the restaurant to trade through the night, but not until 2023 at the earliest.

The revised opening hours for the Bradley Stoke McDonald’s restaurant and drive-through are 6am to 11pm, seven days a week (see sign above).

A source at the franchisee confirmed that the revised hours will be “maintained moving forward”.

The outlet will be closed on Christmas Day and reduced hours will apply on some days over the holiday period. For details, visit the Journal’s Holiday Opening Hours information page.

The planning consent associated with the McDonald’s restaurant also included permission for a Starbucks café and drive-through on an adjacent plot at the Willow Brook Centre. The Starbucks outlet opened on 14th December, exactly three months after McDonald’s began trading.

Mixed reviews

The Bradley Stoke McDonald’s restaurant has received mixed reviews in its first few months of operation and currently has a customer review rating of just 2.1 out of 5 on Google. This compares with the rating of 3.8 out of 5 achieved by the McDonald’s outlets at Filton and Cribbs Causeway – both operated by the same franchisee as Bradley Stoke.
