Get yourselves onto the Bradley Stoke Radio (BSR) website to vote for who you think deserves the prize for sports achievement of the year. The results will be read out on the BSR Sport Show on 6th January.
The competition has been split into two different categories, the team award and the individual award.
Nominees for the Team Award
Bradley Stoke Youth FC Under-10 Girls
The under-10 girls are in the award for their fantastic start to their first competitive season. They turned around a first game loss to bounce back to a tremendous run of form and have reached top of the league before the Christmas break. The result would mean everything to the girls and would be a perfect end to 2012. They refuse to know when they are beaten and always give 100% no matter what the circumstances are.
St. Mary’s Old Boy’s RFC Under-15 Team
The under-15 team have had a fantastic season. They have performed excellently as a team throughout 2012. Due to this amazing team performance they have won three different cups. They are, Gloucester Cup champions, Bristol Combination Sevens champions and Bristol Combination Cup champions.
Bradley Stoke Cricket Club First Team
The Bradley Stoke CC First Team didn’t play as much cricket as they would like to have done. The team only played eight games during the season, winning seven of them. The team performed excellently throughout the season. Three members of the youth section got their caps for the first team and they have gained promotion to the division for the first time in the club’s history.
Nominees for the Individual Award
Karen Butler
Karen, from Stoke Gifford has competed in five different Paralympic games representing Great Britain. She competes in the shooting event, and she shoots from variable positions. In the most recent London Paralympic Games she finished 6th in her final.
Luke Hedger
Luke comes from Yate and rides motorbikes in the GP125 category, in the 2012 season he won the championship and he won the cup in the 2012 series, finishing 60 points ahead of second place in both of those competitions.
Betsy Bax
6-year-old Betsy Rides for Bristol BMX, she always trains hard and she gets her rewards for training so hard. In the past year she has achieved 2nd in the regional series, 3rd in the national series and 5th in the world.
Adam Sykes
Adam Sykes is a veteran of the Bradley Stoke FC First Team; he is always looking to score goals, no matter what team he is playing for within the club. Not just playing football, he often puts in a shift at the Bradley Stoke bar.
Pete Miles
Pete is a member of Bradley Stoke Judo Club and has retained the status of British Champion for an incredible three consecutive years.
