Bradley Stoke Town FC’s first team lost a 2-0 advantage to draw on Tuesday night (11th September) when they played Rangeworthy on the Jubilee field.
The game started brightly with both teams creating chances. Home and away teams looked like they were ready for the game. Especially Bradley Stoke, who are still looking for their first 3 points of the season. Not long until the first goal, an over-hit through ball was well pressured by Adam Sykes who chased down the defender and keeper. Rangeworthy’s keeper did all he could but that was only clearing the ball to Adam Hay who was able to slot the ball into an open net. Soon after that, Bradley Stoke then capitalised on their lead and doubled it from a corner. The corner was left alone by almost every player apart from Craig Potter who volleyed the ball powerfully into the top left hand corner of the goal. This action packed first half meant that Bradley Stoke went into the interval with a 2-0 lead.
The second half started just as brightly as the first. Drama straight away when Rangeworthy scored straight from a corner although the goal was disallowed.
Soon after that Rangeworthy got a controversial penalty when Craig Potter committed a foul on the edge of the penalty area. The referee awarded a free kick however linesman James Collis-Pritchard overruled and said that the foul had taken place in the box. Rangeworthy scored the resulting penalty sending BS keeper Brendan Wilson the wrong way. After this decision Rangeworthy got their hopes up! A short time later, Rangeworthy scored the equaliser when the ball was squared and put into an open Bradley Stoke goal net.
