Bradley Stoke fundraisers go extra mile for children’s hospice

Bibby Line Group employees on Kilimanjaro

A group of finance managers from across the country are the latest to have climbed Kilimanjaro in a bid to raise funds for charity.

A team from the international company Bibby Line Group undertook this amazing challenge in Tanzania this month to raise money for various causes.

Leanne Green and Lee Trego, from Bibby Financial Services in Bradley Stoke, were just two of the team who climbed the 19,340 ft mountain in aid of local children’s charity Children’s Hospice South West.

Leanne said:

“We are delighted that we managed to make it to Uhuru peak and extremely proud that we are able to support such a worthwhile cause.”

The Bristol office of Bibby Financial Services, based in Great Park Road, Bradley Stoke, has chosen to support Children’s Hospice South West in 2010 through organizing and taking part in a number of fundraising events including the Kilimanjaro trek. The company has raised £7,500 with the help of family friends and colleagues, and they still hope to raise more before the end of the year.

Kate Buddery, Corporate Partnerships Fundraiser at Children’s Hospice South West, explained how vital their support is:

“It is thanks to the fantastic committed support of companies like Bibby Financial Services that we can continue to provide care to over 185 families in the local area at the Bristol children’s hospice, Charlton Farm. Through harnessing the support of the local community, we can help to make a real difference to the lives of life-limited children and their families.”

Children’s Hospice South West exists to make the most of short and precious lives and supports children who have life limiting conditions who are not expected to reach adulthood.

Charlton Farm, Bristol’s only children’s hospice, was opened in 2007 and is a place full of love and laughter. In the hospice environment, families can begin to forget their worries for a while, be a family again and receive the very best care for their child.
