Open evening to advise on post-16 education

Bradley Stoke Community School is to hold a ‘post-16 open evening’ this week to inform parents and carers of the courses that it plans to offer at the school’s new sixth form centre.

Pupils currently in year 11 (the school’s first intake) will be eligible to continue their studies at the new centre when it opens its doors in September next year.

Plans for the new post-16 centre will be available to look at and there will be representatives from Thomas Vale Construction available to discuss details and answer questions about the building.

The open evening takes place on Thursday 15th October at 7pm. Members of the local community are also invited to attend.

Construction of the new sixth form centre is now well under way at the Fiddlers Wood Lane site. Ground works are now complete and a start on erecting the steel framework is expected to be made soon.

Work on a new dance studio at the rear of the school is also well advanced and the overall building programme is said to be “on schedule”.
