The November edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine features a number of local stories that have hit the national headlines over the past month, including ‘tank man’ Jeff Woolmer, who had to move house to Bradley Stoke so that he had room to park his newly-acquired seven-tonne Scorpion tank.
The Forest School at Little Stoke Primary School has also been in the limelight, featuring on BBC Newsround, while Bradley Stoke dad Brian Bleaken made headlines with his £25,000 purchase of a ‘Shaun in the City‘ sheep sculpture for his daughter Hollie.
Other stories report on a delay to the construction of a new skate park in Bradley Stoke, proposals for a four-lane replacement of the railway underbridge on Gipsy Patch Lane and Stoke Gifford Parish Council’s decision to levy a charge on the popular weekly parkrun held in Little Stoke Park.
There’s also news of upcoming events in Bradley Stoke, including the Scout’s Remembrance parade on Sunday 8th November and the Willow Brook Centre’s Christmas lights switch-on, taking place on Saturday 21st November.
