Gromberry and Butterfly, two Gromit sculptures that featured in last year’s massively popular Gromit Unleashed trail, are the star attractions at Wheatfield Primary School’s summer fayre, which takes place on Saturday (5th July), from 12 noon to 3pm.
There will be refreshments, craft activities, tombolas, a Gromit figurine raffle, inflatables, strawberries and cream, penalty shoot-out and much more. There will also be an opportunity for a photo with Gromberry and Butterfly, in return for a small donation to Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal.
Entry to the summer fayre is 50p for adults and free for children. It is sure to be a Grand Day Out!
A number of children from Wheatfield have unfortunately had the need to visit Bristol Children’s Hospital for various reasons over the past few years. We are pleased to be able to support Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal and help raise much needed funds, so that the hospital can continue to provide its fantastic treatment and aftercare facilities, for children and their families.
John Morris, whose son Calum is a pupil at Wheatfield Primary School and a patient at the Children’s Hospital, managed to arrange the visit, thanks to Helen Haskell, Corporate and Events Fundraiser for Wallace and Gromit’s Grand Appeal, Gromberry’s owner, One Scientific Limited of Avonmouth and Butterfly’s owner Zachary Adams.
John said:
“Having spent so much time at the Children’s Hospital over the last eight years we do really appreciate all the care and support that we have received as a family. Being part of this fund raising event is a small gesture to show our appreciation.”
