The December 2013 edition of the Bradley Stoke Journal magazine will be dropping on doormats this weekend.
This issue includes a four-page Christmas special, with articles on the recent Willow Brook Centre Christmas lights switch-on event and a fantastic charity Christmas lights display on a house in Watch Elm Close (have you seen it yet?).
The centre spread contains a comprehensive guide to carol concerts and church services over Christmas plus the opening times of local shops and public services over the festive period.
It’s not all about Christmas though, and there are reports about Children in Need, Halloween, the Bradley Stoke firework display, and local Remembrance Sunday & Armistice Day commemorations.
We have the latest news on the town council’s plans for the future of the Brook Way hard court (they’re going to ask the public for ideas) and a row that has blown up over a decision to allow more food traders to set up shop in the car parks of the three community centres in Bradley Stoke.
Meanwhile, plans for Bradley Stoke to have its own war memorial have suffered another setback after a South Gloucestershire Council committee insisted that more public consultation be carried out before it would award a grant to the project.
The magazine also contains the latest news from the Bradley Stoke in Bloom and Three Brooks Nature Conservation groups, while our letters page has plenty of feedback on topics covered in previous editions, such as traffic congestion and the new green bin charge.
Finally, don’t forget to have a go at our Christmas-themed quiz (compiled by local Mastermind contestant Paul Philpot), which will help get you in the festive spirit.

Like it. Better than the freebie that is delivered with all the advertising leaflets in it. That is recycled straight away.
Particularly like letters section. Good some people tell it as it is unlike politicians both local and national.
