Saturday afternoon at the Baileys Court cricket ground saw Bradley Stoke CC First XI lose out to Bristol YMCA, who currently sit at the top of the Senior Division.
Bradley Stoke could not reach the total of 219 set by YMCA in the first innings. The big total was helped by the opening pair of Keith Milsom and Wayne Butler hitting a combined total of 77. This was backed up with Jacob Spence hitting another 60 runs a little later on in the innings. The total could have been more, however, as the middle order of YMCA’s innings went for a combined total of 41, James Sienesi highest scoring with 27 out of the middle order.
The pick of the bowlers for Bradley Stoke was part-time spinner Steve Davis who took five wickets for 48 runs off of just ten overs in the game. He was vital in the innings as he took the wicket of three of the middle order in the YMCA Line up. The opening pair of the visitors were dismissed by spinner Wayne Passmore and pace bowler Sam Wentland.
In the second innings, Bradley Stoke failed to chase the competitive total of 219 with opening batsmen Adam Davis making just four runs before being bowled. Joe Coles and Daniel Peachey bringing a combined total of 103 to the board – Coles being the highest scorer in the second innings with 59 after eventually being bowled by Shufflebotham. The middle order trying to make up some runs but failing, Sririam Bellamkonda moving up from the second team making just 22 runs before being bowled.
The tail order couldn’t help much as they all went for a total of just 14. Best bowling figures at the end of the second innings went to Dave Shufflebotham, who took six wickets for 35 runs off of seven overs. This meant Bristol YMCA stayed at the top of the league and won the game by 40 runs.

Football: Bradley Stoke Town Football Club
New manager roles have been announced for the upcoming 2013/14 season of football in Bradley Stoke.
Craig Tucker, who has been involved with the club for many years, will take charge of the Reserves with Phil Ashton, a former player from the club. They take over from James Collis-Pritchard and Ben Pearce, who guided the team to safety last season.
Matt Burch will take over the A Team after the stepping down of Chris Laslett and Mark Wilkes.
Managers remaining with their teams are John Welsh, who will remain in charge of the First Team, and Steve Kerton who will keep his managerial role with the B Team.

- Men’s Bristol & District League team: vs Henleaze C, home won 8-2 (58-32) on 4/7 – 5th position out of 10.
- Men’s North East League team: vs Bristol St Andrews, away lost 4-6 (48-55) on 4/7 – 6th position out of 10.
