Bradley Stoke Community School (BSCS) is celebrating another set of excellent GCSE grades – obtained by the second year of students to pass through the school.
Headteacher Dave Baker said:
“We are delighted to share the successful outcomes for our second cohort of students at Bradley Stoke Community School; they have surpassed the high standards set for the school in last year’s first GCSE results, exceeding targets in the process – congratulations to all students.”
86% of students achieved at least 5 A*-C grades or equivalent and 67% achieved at least 5 A*-C grades including English and Maths. Unlike last year, girls outperformed boys.
Individual successes highlighted by Mr Baker include:
- Sushmita Ramanujam – 10A* and 2A grades
- Nainesha Kulkarni – 9A* and 2A grades
- Sam Wells – 8A* and 2A grades
- Charlotte Murray – 7A* and 4A grades

Mr Baker added:
“We are now looking forward to many of our students progressing to post 16 study with us as we will have a full school with years 7 – 13 for the first time when term starts next week.”
Provisional analysis of GCSE results for the whole of South Gloucestershire indicates that 77% of students achieved 5+ A*-C overall and 56% achieved 5+ A*-C including English and Maths.
This is an improvement of 2% points over last year’s figure for 5+ A*-C overall, whilst the percentage for 5+ A*-C including English and Maths remained the same as last year.
Councillor Sheila Cook, South Gloucestershire Council’s executive member for children and young people, said:
“South Gloucestershire Council places a high priority on educational achievement and young people and it is very encouraging to see such positive results again this year.”
“These provisional figures reflect the hard work and determination not only of our students but also of their teachers, non-teaching staff, school governors, parents, carers and all the other people who support them. Congratulations are due to them all.”

Very pleased to see these results, Congratulations to the students & their parents, well done.
As a former Governor of the school I too would like to offer my congratulations to the school and the individual students who have obviously worked hard to achieve these excellent results.
Whilst its all very nice to single out a few gifted children for praise lets not forget there are many out there who worked hard and may not achieved high grades expected.
Education isn’t all about all achieving high grades its about enabling students to take on the challenges of modern life.
There many students who are not academically high achievers but who nevertheless are well adjusted and go on to contribute greatly to our society!
Lets hear it for them as well!
Congratulations to the top scorers and all those who helped them to achieve good grades!
It is great to hear that our local school is doing well. We are proud of that.
Let this inspire us to achieve more and better in the future with perseverance.
