The full line-up of bands and dance groups for the first day of next weekend’s Bradley Stoke Community Festival has been revealed.
Saturday 8th June 2024 will see a full-format festival return to the Jubilee Centre fields following a barren year in 2023 after councillors embarrassingly failed to secure the services of a management company in time to stage the hugely popular annual event.
Music will be provided by an eclectic mix of local bands and singers: Beacon Rise, Doc Rock, Elevation, Kaiju Blue, 80’s tribute band Outatime and Dreamscape plus a solo performance from Chris Auburn.
Local dance groups performing in between the bands are: Babyballet, Street Envy, 5678 Dance,
Danceworks, Street Cred and the South Gloucestershire Chinese Association.
A skate park half-pipe will be on site and there will be demos by top riders and skaters plus regular ‘have-a-go’ sessions.
The ever-popular street art ‘paint-a-board’ sessions return, with artist (Olas Art) supported by youth workers and young volunteers.

Rides and stalls
Fun rides for the children include bungee trampolines, giant slides, football games, giant inflatables, Wipe Out, a Wrecking Ball inflatable and Rodeo Bull, along with Bungee Run in the ‘free-to-ride’ Community Zone, plus the popular, young children’s go-karts.
A tall mobile climbing wall will be set up alongside the Bradley Stoke Scouts’ stalls, which also feature tomahawk throwing and junior archery plus lot of other fun activities.
Over 80 stalls will feature a wide range of arts and crafts, from hair styling and colouring, face painting, to jewellery and accessories plus local services and associations, alongside sideshows and community stalls offering a wide range of local products and novelties.
Bradley Stoke Youth FC will be running their Schools Football Festival as normal, which will include many different age groups starting from Reception and upwards. This will involve small-sided matches throughout the day with trophies being awarded to teams and will take place on the top field football pitches starting from 11am.
Cllr Dayley Lawrence, mayor of Bradley Stoke, said:
“I am delighted that we are staging the full festival this year! After a year of absence it’s back in full. This event is a wonderful celebration for Bradley Stoke and there will be so much going on that there will be something that appeals to everyone. What a great opportunity for the community to come together.”
Cllr Natalie Field, deputy mayor, added:
“The main festival day is a combination of music, dance, community stalls, food and drink, rides, displays, demonstrations, youth football festival and a street art project. The festival will have so much happening and will be great fun for everyone including families with children.”
Sunday’s events
The Community Festival continues on Sunday 9th June 2024 with:
- The Bradley Stoke 10k Run, with start and finish at the Jubilee Centre
- The Brightwell Colour Run, at the Jubilee Centre
- The Festival Skate Park Jam, at Bradley Stoke Skate Park
