The Journal has received official confirmation that a new café is to open within Bradley Stoke’s Tesco Extra store “in the coming weeks”.
Speculation about the new facility started when an advertising panel displaying the words ‘The Café. Freshly cooked, Barista made’ appeared on an outside wall of the store earlier this week.
In response to an enquiry from the Journal, a Tesco spokesperson said:
“We can confirm that a new Tesco café will be opening in the coming weeks in our Bradley Stoke Extra store and are excited to provide customers with a range of delicious and affordable food and drink options.”
The location of the café within the store has not been revealed. Although the advertising panel is on the outside of an area on the ground the store that was sectioned off some months ago, sources on social media say the café will be on the first (mezzanine) floor of the store.
The new café will expand the range of eateries at the town’s Willow Brook shopping centre that currently includes Costa Coffee, Subway, Harvester, Greggs, KFC, Starbucks and McDonald’s.
Jobs advertised
Advertisements for jobs at the café have appeared on the Tesco Careers website in the last few days. These state that the new facility will open in “July 2024“.
At the time of writing, the following positions were listed:
- Café Team Leader
- Café Back of House Team Member
- Café team member
The application deadline is given as 6th June 2024.
To access the job advertisements, visit the Tesco Careers website and enter ‘Bradley Stoke’ in the ‘Town/Location’ field of the query form.

Opening delayed?

The latest job vacancy adverts are showing a later opening date of “August 2024“.
