Bradley Stoke Community School reports “positive progress” in GCSE outcomes

Bradley Stoke Community School (BSCS) has reported “positive progress” in this year’s GCSE examination results, with several metrics showing an improvement from last year.

A spokesperson for the school said:

“We would like to congratulate all Bradley Stoke Community School students who received their GCSE results today. They have shown fantastic dedication and determination to reach this point and we would like to thank everyone who supported students along the way, including their families and all teachers and staff.”

“It is a testament to this determination that overall progress is positive, with 73 percent of students achieving five or more Grades at 4 or above, and 58 percent five or more Grades at 5 or above; both these results are an improvement compared to summer 2023.”

The school reports that over 27 percent of entries were awarded Grades 7-9, describing this as “a real achievement at the top end”.

Ofqual reports that the national figure for England at Grade 7 and above is 21.7 percent.

In addition to this, 71 percent of students achieved a Grade 4 or above in both English and Mathematics, and 57 percent a Grade 5 or above in both subjects. Again, this was an improvement on last year, with an increase of over 10 percentage points for Grade 5 and above.

  • Ishita J. – 8 x grade 9, 2 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 6
  • Julia V. – 7 x grade 9, 3 x grade 8 and 1 x grade 6

Three or more grade 9s each: Anna B., Connor F., Daoud D., Emily H., Lara M., Loretta C., Naomi B., Paul G., Ruby G., Tay L., and Tatyana R.

Headteacher Sophie Francis said:

“We are so pleased for our students who should feel proud of everything they have achieved – their hard work, dedication and application has paid off. I have been so impressed by the year group’s attitude across the year and by their approach to their examinations – it’s a very intense time and they were nothing but positive throughout.”

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who has played a part in helping students to achieve these results, especially staff who have worked tirelessly to encourage them to achieve their personal best and families for their continued support of BSCS. Thank you also to all those who have played a part in this year group’s wider education at BSCS, such as employers and speakers who have helped to motivate and inspire. Well done to you all and I look forward to welcoming many of you back in Year 12 to continue your studies at post 16.”
