A reminder that all members and prospective members of Bradley Stoke Bowls Club are invited to attend the Spring Meeting, to be held in the Orchard room at Baileys Court Activity Centre on Thursday (26th March) at 6.30 pm, when fixture lists will be available and new members welcomed.
Club Captain George Eland (pictured right, with wife Denise) writes:
I joined Bradley Stoke Bowls Club five years ago, when I retired from my job at Airbus. It has been the perfect solution for me as to what I would do to fill some of my spare time.
I can honestly say that I have enjoyed myself, both in playing bowls and the wonderful family atmosphere found at the club, so much so that I took on the role as Club Captain for the season 2014. I have also been elected in that role for 2015.
Last season, the bowls club made great steps forward in winning the Bristol and District League, and the ladies section finishing runners up in their league, both teams winning promotion to the next level.
2015 promises to be a season to look forward to, with plenty of games to play and ‘away days’ planned for Budleigh Salterton and Reading.
Games are played in a friendly atmosphere at all levels, from beginners to more experienced player, with practice sessions for beginners on Tuesdays throughout the season.
Whether you are an interested beginner or a more experienced player, Bradley Stoke Bowls Club is a great place to play, so please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
