Bradley Stoke has plenty of events to keep children and young people occupied this half term.

Bradley Stoke Leisure Centre’s October Holiday Programme (for children aged 4 upwards) runs from Monday 28th October to Friday 1st November and includes activities ranging from roller-skating to trampolining.

On Monday (28th October), between 2.30pm and 4pm, there’s a free ‘Bonkers Conkers’ craft session at Bradley Stoke Library, suitable for ages 3 to 11.

Young people aged 8 to 16 are invited to join a Dreamscheme project on Wednesday (30th October) which will see them making bird boxes for the local nature reserve. The event takes place at the Jubilee Centre from 10am to 12noon. Phone 01454 858670/1 to register.

Also on Wednesday, running from 11am to 4pm, is a free media training event for young people aged 12 to 18. Organised by Bradley Stoke Town Council, it takes place at Baileys Court Activity Centre. To find out more, phone the Youth Participation Worker on 07900 253826.

Halloween fun comes to the Willow Brook Centre on Thursday (31st October) when children can make “spooky creations” at a free craft workshop. There is also free face painting, a fancy dress competition and a ‘trick or treat’ trail around the centre.

The week will finish with a bang on Sunday evening (3rd November) at the annual Jubilee Centre firework display organised by Bradley Stoke Town Council. Gates open at 4.30pm with refreshments available from 4.45pm. The display is scheduled to begin at 6pm.
